Assists with inflamed joints.
We use Thermal Treatments to improve inflamed joints and painful muscles.
Cryotherapy is the use of cold to reduce inflammation, to increase cell survival and reduce pain and spasm. At Paradise Canine Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, we utilize ice to treat locally inflamed areas. Many of our post-surgical patients are advised to seek cryotherapy as it can directly impact the speed in a pet’s recovery. Through the use of heat packs and ice packs, our therapists are able to increase or decrease blood flow to a particular area.
We also utilize warm water and warmed packs to ease muscle pain and allow stretching of painful muscles. Often while in the heated pool, our therapy assistants will add warmed wet towels to your pet’s painful body parts to ease their discomfort.
Thermal treatments offer the following benefits:
- Increases/decreases blood flow
- Reduces pain
