Fostering Opportunities at the Baltimore Humane Society

When you foster a homeless dog or cat, you are saving the lives of two animals–the one you care for and one who fills the newly opened space in their no-kill shelter. Give a stressed, homeless animal a chance to decompress, remember what it’s like to be in a loving home, and brush up on it’s training so it can be adopted.

GO RAVENS!

Baltimore Humane Society

The Baltimore Humane Society has teamed up with Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco to encourage Marylanders to adopt, volunteer, and donate to the organization.

Baltimore Humane says the campaign is to help the shelter standout from other animal welfare groups and answer common misconceptions such as the fact the organization is supported by money from local government or organizations like the Humane Society of the United States.

In a statement, the Baltimore Humane Society says it hopes the community understands they are a private shelter with no association to any other local shelter and they rely completely on private donations.

In fact, just a few months ago, Joe Flacco selected the Baltimore Humane Society to be his charity of choice through the “Take Joe on the Go” campaign, a fundraiser with Dunkin Donuts and donated $9,000 to help maintain the shelter.

Part of the campaign also includes billboards located on the Jones-Falls Expressway near Druid Park Lake Drive and others in Timonium, Owings Mills, and Reisterstown showing Flacco holding an adoptable puppy.

The organization is also trying to get the public involved by giving away autographed prizes including a football, jersey, and photographs. They are also giving away dog water dishes, dog t-shirts, and toys all signed by Flacco.

The Baltimore Humane Society is also asking people to share pictures of their pets all geared up in support of the Ravens. Some of the pictures they receive will be shared on the organization’s Facebook page.

For more information on the give-a-ways and to submit a picture, you can visit the Baltimore Humane’s website at  www.bmorehumane.org

Not Only is Joe Flacco a Great Quaterback…

…he’s also a great advocate and supporter of pets in our community! GO RAVENS!
